About Coldplay:

Coldplay is a British rock band that formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves “Coldplay” in 1998, before recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999 and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone.

Despite their worldwide popularity, the band has remained protective of how their music is used in the media, refusing its use for product endorsements. In the past, Coldplay turned down multi-million dollar contracts from Gatorade, Diet Coke, and Gap, who wanted to use the songs “Yellow”, “Trouble”, and “Don’t Panic” respectively. According to frontman, Chris Martin, “We wouldn’t be able to live with ourselves if we sold the songs’ meanings like that.”

Coldplay spent most of 2004 out of the spotlight, taking a break from touring and releasing a satire music video of a song from a fictional band titled The Nappies while recording their third album. X&Y was released in June 2005 in UK and Europe. This new, delayed release date had put the album back into the next fiscal year, actually causing EMI’s stock to drop. It became the best-selling album of 2005 with worldwide sales of 8.3 million. The lead single, “Speed of Sound“, made its radio and online music store debut on 18 April and was released as a CD on 23 May 2005. X&Y entered the album charts of 20 countries at the number one position and was the third-fastest selling album in UK chart history.

Colbie Marie Caillat (born May 28, 1985) is an American pop singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist from Malibu, California. About the Author:

Ben Sharp has been making music under the banner of Cloudkicker since 2007. He writes, records, mixes, and masters everything at his home in Columbus, Ohio. Few get as lucky as Ben Sharp has. Sharp, who has a day job, the details of which he has never made public, tells us that his prog metal project Cloudkicker, has found ample inspiration in his work. “A big part of what I do for a living is travel. I like movement. I like going from place to place. I like the idea of a journey. I think that comes through in my music,” says the Ohio-based multi-instrumentalist over Skype. It all started in 2008, with Cloudkicker’s first album, The Discovery. Says Sharp, “I’d gotten a lot of emails from people asking me ways they could donate, ways they could give me money. I would always say, ‘No, it’s okay, don’t worry about it. It’s something I do as a hobby’.” After 2010’s Beacons, Ben Sharp realized his music was widely-heard and purchased across the world, using the popular pay-what-you-want model of sales. With his latest release, Subsume, which was out last month, Sharp says he likes the balance between Cloudkicker and his regular life to stay the same as it’s been over the last five years and five albums. Says Sharp, “If Subsume has taught me anything, it’s not to stress out about music and not to worry.”

Ben Sharp does everything himself when it comes to Cloudkicker. Everything from the guitar tone that he comes up with to the time and effort to the song construction, mixing and mastering. Ben Sharp likes getting things to sound as close to the way it sounds in his head. He certainly feels very strongly that production should not necessarily be polished, but reflect the way that’s balanced. But for bands that he listens to, and people who send me music, he’s not nearly as critical of the production of their music as he is of his own. Ben Sharp is a very down to earth guy, not feeling the need to get paid for his work as he does it as a hobby, but takes donations to help fund new equipment and production costs.

Clinton Patrick “Clint” Black (born February 4, 1962) is an American country music singer-songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist and occasional actor. Signed to RCA Records in 1989, Clint Black‘s debut album Killin’ Time produced four straight number one singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Although his momentum gradually slowed throughout the 1990s, Black consistently charted hit songs into the 2000s. He has had more than 30 singles on the US Billboard country charts, thirteen of which have reached number one, in addition to having released nine studio albums and several compilation albums. About Jiminy Cricket:

Jiminy Cricket was voiced, in English, by three different actors. He was originally performed by singer Cliff Edwards, who voiced the character for Disney through the 1960s and sang Jiminy’s most famous song, When You Wish Upon A Star. After Edwards’ death, Eddie Carroll replaced him as Jiminy’s voice actor. Edwards (June 14, 1895 – July 17, 1971), also known as “Ukelele Ike”, was an American singer and voice actor who enjoyed considerable popularity in the 1920s and early 1930s, specializing in jazzy renditions of pop standards and novelty tunes. He had a number-one hit with “Singin’ In The Rain” in 1929. He also did voices for animated cartoons later in his career, and is best known as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Walt Disney’s Pinocchio (1940).

About Claudia Carawan:

Claudia Carawan (born April 19, 1959, Alexandria, Virginia, United States) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Although she has been creating and performing music for more than 20 years, it took until 2003 before she released her debut album, Out of the Blue. It derives its sound from several styles including soul, R&B, reggae and jazz. Her voice draws comparisons with Bonnie Raitt and Eva Cassidy. Carawan is a cousin of the folk musician Guy Carawan. Claudia Carawan is an award winning singer/songwriter, performer and recording artist who has been inspiring fans with her positive heart and soul music for many years. In performance Claudia Carawan is “one goose-bump inducing vocalist” who moves with ease through many genres (soul, pop, gospel, jazz). Her music is best described as POSITVELY SOULFUL.

As a workshop facilitator Carawn conducts engaging workshops on creativity, songwriting and singing. For many years Carawan has worked as a Music Teacher for a residential treatment center that serves “at risk” teenagers. In this capacity she has inspired hundreds of students to discover and develop their individual gifts and creative abilities. Claudia Carawan loves working with the hip hop generation and they have inspired her too! Claudia also serves as a Music Director at Unity Christ Church of Bon Air in Richmond, Virginia. About Cinderella:

Cinderella is an American glam metal band from Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania. They emerged in the mid-1980s with a series of multi-platinum albums and hit singles whose music videos received heavy MTV rotation. They were famous for being a glam metal band, but then shifted over towards a more hard rock/blues-rock sound. By the mid-1990s, Cinderella‘s popularity declined severely due to personal setbacks, break-ups, and changes in the music industry. Nonetheless, after a hiatus the band reunited and is still active at present. The band has sold 15 million albums worldwide, according to Tom Keifer’s official website.

Cinderella‘s first tour was in 1986 with fellow glam metal rockers Poison, opening for Japanese heavy metal band Loudness. Further tours into 1987 were spent playing to large arena audiences: five months opening for former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth, and seven months with Bon Jovi, taking the opening slot for their Slippery When Wet tour. Later that year, the band went overseas, appearing in Japan, Scandinavia, and at the Monsters of Rock festivals in United Kingdom and Germany.
