About Celine Dion:
Céline Marie Claudette Dion, was born in 1968, the youngest of 14 children. Early in childhood, she sang with her siblings in a small club owned by her parents. From these early experiences, Céline Dion gained the know-how to performing live. At the age of 12, Dion composed a song in her native French and sent it to a record company, where it garnered the attention of René Angélil, a respected manager and her future husband. Angélil believed in Céline so much that he actually mortgaged his house in order to finance her debut album. Already very popular and successful internationally, Céline Dion burst onto the U.S. stage when she recorded the theme song to Disney’s hit Beauty and the Beast (1991). In 1990 she released the English-language album Unison, establishing herself as a viable pop artist in North America and other English-speaking areas of the world. Céline Dion‘s music has been influenced by genres ranging from rock and R&B to gospel and classical. Her main singing languages are French and English, but she also sings in Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, Japanese and Mandarine Chinese. While her releases have often received mixed critical reception, she is renowned for her technically skilled and powerful vocals.
About Quand on n’a que l’amour By Celine Dion:
The album À l’Olympia (meaning At the Olympia) was recorded on September 28 and 29, 1994, during two sold-out concerts at the Paris Olympia. Among songs from singer’s previous French album Dion chante Plamondon, Celine Dion performed also “Calling You,” (Academy Award nominated song from Bagdad Café), “Quand on n’a que l’amour” (originally by Jacques Brel), and a medley of songs from the Starmania musical, including two songs unavailable on Dion previous releases.
About Other Songs By Celine Dion:
Dion’s status on the world stage was further solidified when she was asked to perform “The Power of the Dream” at the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. “I’m Alive” is an uplifting midtempo song, where Celine Dion declares she is alive, fulfilled as a mother, and “in love.” It became a worldwide hit, hitting top 10 in many countries. It was certified platinum in Belgium (50,000) and gold in France (250,000).
lyrics:
Quand on n’a que l’amour
s’offrir en partage
Au jour du grand voyage
Qu’est notre grand amour
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Mon amour toi et moi
Pour qu’clatent de joie
Chaque heure et chaque jour
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour vivre nos promesses
Sans nulle autre richesse
Que d’y croire toujours
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour meubler de merveilles
Et couvrir de soleil
La laideur des faubourgs
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour unique raison
Pour unique chanson
Et unique secours
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour habiller matin
Pauvres et malandrins
De manteaux de velours
Quand on n’a que l’amour
offrir en prire
Pour les maux de la terre
En simple troubadour
Quand on n’a que l’amour
offrir ceux-l
Dont l’unique combat
Est de chercher le jour
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour tracer un chemin
Et forcer le destin
chaque carrefour
Quand on n’a que l’amour
Pour parler aux canons
Et rien qu’une chanson
Pour convaincre un tambour
Alors sans avoir rien
Que la force d’aimer
Nous aurons dans nos mains
Amis le monde entier
offer in share
On the day of the great journey
That is our great love
When we only have love
I love you and I
Qu’clatent for joy
Every hour and every day
When we only have love
To live our promises
Without any other wealth
That always believe
When we only have love
To furnish with marvels
Cover and sun
The ugliness of the suburbs
When we only have love
For one reason
For single song
And unique assistance
When we only have love
To dress in the morning
Poor and bandits
Velvet coats
When we only have love
offer in prayer
For the ills of the world
As simple
When we only have love
offer them the
Whose unique fighting
Is to look for the day
When we only have love
To trace a path
And force the destiny
each intersection
When we only have love
To speak to cannons
And only a song
To convince a drum
So with nothing
The power of love
We have in our hands
Friends around the world
